We are delighted you are thinking of visiting Upminster Baptist Church. We are a Baptist Church, which means we are a community of believers who seek to follow Jesus together, value the Bible as our guide, and practice believer’s baptism as a personal expression of faith. Whether you are new to church, returning after a while, or just curious, you will find a warm, friendly welcome here.

Meet Our Ministers

Rev. Mark Davison

I am an Upminster boy from birth and was brought up in a Christian family.  I began attending Upminster Baptist Church with my family in 2004.  In 2009, the church commended me for training in Ministry and I spent three years at Spurgeon's College.  Whilst there, I served as part-time Minister at Winter Gardens Baptist Church on Canvey Island, returning to Upminster in September 2012.  I am married to Mireille and we have three adult children and four grandchildren.  

Rev. Richard Shorter

I joined Upminster Baptist as Youth and Families Minister in January 2022. I have a joy and passion to help all engage with the adventure of following Jesus.  I combine serving the church and running a small business.  My favourite way to enjoy time is by being competitive or walking the family's unruly dog!

Sunday Services – 10:30am

Our relaxed Sunday service includes worship, teaching, and community, finishing around 11:45am. Come early for a chat, or stay afterward for tea and coffee — a great way to meet people.

Everyone’s Welcome

There’s no dress code — just come as you are. Families are a big part of our church and children are always welcome (noise and all!) Whatever our age, we can experience the Spirit's work in the freshness of the young, the faithfulness of the old and the church where we gather together.

For Families

  • Sunday School (3 – 10 yrs) – fun, engaging activities about faith.

  • Youth Group (11–18 yrs) – a relaxed space to explore life and faith.

Kids join the start of the service before heading to their groups if they wish.

New or Visiting?

There’s no pressure — just come, listen, and explore faith at your own pace. If you’re new to the area or looking for a church home, we’d love to meet you.

More Than Sundays

Join our Growth Groups and Prayer Meetings to explore faith, build friendships, and grow spiritually together.

Our Community Groups - for example, Men’s Shed, Monday Club, Men's Cafe and Wellbeing Group - offer relaxed, welcoming spaces to connect, share skills, and support one another.
